These resources were developed to assist in the teaching and enriching of story writing skills for children in Key Stages 1 and 2. The genres available are: KS1 - Traditional Tales and Fantasy; KS2 - Traditional Tales, Fantasy, Science Fiction and Myths & Legends. Each Teaching Guide contains details about the specific features for the genre together with exemplar texts, detailed lesson plans showing how to model building a story and differentiated story planning sheets. They also contain suggestions for further, cross-curricular activities and extended writing opportunities. The card packs offer a fun, structured way of supporting children in the planning of a story, each pack consisting of the necessary elements of character, setting etc. The books include a CD-Rom containing all the images from the corresponding card pack.
