    Dyscalculia and poor literacy skills
  • Do you find the software easy to use?
    very good - accessible for the pupils - visually good - user friendly
  • Your view of the software e.g. graphics, speech and area(s) covered by the software:
    Excellent, visually good, easy to access, user friendly. OHT's excellent for developing 'paired' games. Pupils very responsive.
  • Who supervises the delivery of the programme?
    Miss Alvarez maths teacher. In September, Maths Works will be used in the numeracy club, a wave 3 numeracy intervention.
  • Pupil's view of the programme:
    Found it user friendly, able to access the material.
  • What areas of expertise does the programme cover and does it marry with other programmes used?
    All maths work for year 4. Used in a secondary environment for consolidation and reinforcement.
  • Any improvements that could be made or any other comments:
    Found it difficult to access the resources CD . To match the year to maths levels. Visual overload for pupils with learning difficulties but excellent for other learners. Only trialled year 4, other levels may be appropriate. Only supplied with 2 books for the trial, hence not used.
  • Progress made by the pupils:
    Progress made by the group was excellent. The use of Maths Works enhanced achievement and improved pupil's self esteem. Maths became an enjoyable subject for these pupils.
  • Would your school continue to use the programme?
    Yes for consolidation and reinforcement and also in the numeracy wave 3 intervention club.
