Support Staff Development Centre

Developing Staff Supporting Learning

The Support Staff Development Centre (SSDC), is a Local Authority training provider, offering a range of qualifications, training and development opportunities, designed to meet the needs of Support Staff in Tameside schools - in order to achieve Better Outcomes for All Children and Young People. We are developing and adding new courses and accredited qualifications as Workforce Reform continues, and new roles emerge to meet the needs of Every Child Matters and the development of Extended Services

HOW OUR CENTRE SUPPORTS EVERY CHILD MATTERS

Our aim is to help children in Tameside by:

  • Developing Support Staff to their full potential in order to support children's learning needs
  • Developing, in cooperation with schools, a clear structure upon which Support Staff can base their professional practice
